River trips in South Korea for whitewater kayaking

There are many rivers to whitewater kayak in this beautiful country.  However, many of them are inaccessible, run very occasionally  or have not been run regularly.  The runs that are paddled regularly are shallow gradient, good rapids and consistent flows through the summer.  I'm sure there are many more to be paddled, there are four reliable runs that flow most of the summer (June-September)

Naerin River near Inje
The Naerin is a beautiful run that comes out of the hills outside of Inje.  To get here, you can either take a car or bus to Inje (sometimes Injae).  From the bus terminal it is about 7 miles to the putin.  You can either get a shuttle with the local kayak school (5000 won) or arrange other transport.  The run is roadside, so it is easy to get there and away if you have a vehicle.  It is also a popular commercial rafting run so there is plenty of traffic in the area from local boaters.

Other rivers include:

Hantan River near Cheol Won

Im Cheon River near Hap Cheon

Dong River near Young Wol
